Rupin Travels is a travel design company registered in California and operated by Sashi Kumar. We design and curate small-group journeys through India. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit rupintravels.com or contact us directly.

What we collect

Information you give us directly:

• Name, email address, and phone number when you submit an enquiry or contact us
• Journey preferences — travel dates, group size, interests, and budget range
• The content of messages sent via our contact form, email, or WhatsApp

Information collected automatically:

• Pages visited, time on site, and general navigation patterns
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• General location (country and region — not precise location)
• IP address (anonymised where possible)

We do not collect or store payment card information. Payments are processed through secure third-party providers governed by their own privacy policies.

How we use your information

• To respond to your journey enquiry and design a personalised itinerary
• To communicate with you about your booking and travel arrangements
• To send you information about Rupin Travels you have requested
• To improve our website and understand how visitors use it
• To run advertising campaigns where you have consented
• To comply with legal obligations under California and US law

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

How long we keep your information

• Enquiry and contact data — 3 years from last contact, unless you request earlier deletion
• Booking and travel records — 7 years, as required for financial compliance under California law
• Analytics data — as configured in Google Analytics (default 26 months)
• Marketing data — until you unsubscribe or request deletion

Your California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

As a California resident, you have the following rights:

• Right to know — request a full list of personal information we hold about you
• Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions
• Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell personal information, but we will honour all such requests
• Right to limit use of sensitive information — limit how we use sensitive personal information
• Right to non-discrimination — we will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure — including encrypted communications (HTTPS), limited staff access, and vetted third-party providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Children's privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised effective date. For significant changes we will notify existing clients by email.

Use of this website

This website is for personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to:

• Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any content without our written permission
• Use the site in any way that violates California or US law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its infrastructure
• Submit false or misleading information through any contact form

Journey bookings and pricing

• All prices are quoted in US dollars and are subject to change until a booking is confirmed in writing
• A confirmed booking requires a signed booking form and deposit payment
• Journey availability is not guaranteed until written confirmation is received from Rupin Travels
• Prices do not include international airfare, travel insurance, visas, or personal expenses unless explicitly stated
• Rupin Travels may adjust pricing due to significant changes in exchange rates, fuel costs, or supplier pricing, with reasonable notice

Deposits and payment

• A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to confirm a booking
• The remaining balance is due 60 days before departure
• For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at time of booking
• Accepted payment methods will be specified in your journey proposal

Cancellation policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to info@rupintravels.com.

• More than 90 days before departure — deposit forfeited, balance refunded in full
• 60–90 days before departure — 50% of total journey price forfeited
• 30–60 days before departure — 75% of total journey price forfeited
• Less than 30 days before departure — 100% of total journey price forfeited

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation for any reason.

Changes to your journey

• Requests to change dates or itinerary after booking confirmation are subject to availability and may incur additional costs
• Rupin Travels may modify an itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control — weather, local conditions, or supplier changes. We will always seek the closest reasonable alternative.
• If Rupin Travels cancels a journey for any reason within our control, you will receive a full refund of all payments made

Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal liability is strongly recommended for all Rupin Travels journeys. Rupin Travels does not provide travel insurance and is not liable for costs that would be covered by an appropriate policy.

Health, fitness, and responsibility

• You are responsible for ensuring you are in suitable health and physical condition for your chosen journey
• You are responsible for obtaining any required visas, vaccinations, or travel documents for India
• Any medical conditions or dietary requirements must be disclosed at time of booking
• Rupin Travels recommends consulting a travel medicine specialist before visiting India

Limitation of liability

Rupin Travels acts as a journey designer and coordinator working with trusted local partners in India — hotels, guides, and transport providers — but is not the direct provider of those services.

• Rupin Travels is not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, or delay caused by third-party suppliers
• Rupin Travels is not liable for losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, political events, pandemics, or government travel advisories
• Our total liability shall not exceed the total price paid for your journey

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, as required under California law.

Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, itineraries, and design — is the property of Rupin Travels or its licensors and is protected by US and international copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without prior written permission.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of California.
